Capability Tokens for Voice JS SDK Notice

Twilio Capability Tokens allow applications built using the Voice JavaScript SDK to authenticate with Twilio. This token format has been superseded by Access Tokens for a long time and Access Token is the recommended option for all client-side SDK applications. Access Tokens provide improved security and have features that are not available to Capability Tokens.

Twilio will announce the End of Life (EOL) for Capability Tokens next year (2025); once the EOL is announced customers will have one year from the announcement date to migrate away from Capability Tokens to Access Tokens. We highly recommend that you do not wait for the EOL announcement and plan your migration as soon as possible.
