Seamlessly Add Click to Call to Websites with Custard
Time to read: 2 minutes
At the Twilio Conference hackathon, we saw a ton of great hacks and apps built in one night, and many in particular stood out, especially Custard. Built by David Phillips, Christian Fernandez and Robbie Trencheny, Custard allows website owners to easily add click to call functionality to their websites without any required phone or software downloads.
Since the conference, they’ve been refining Custard’s click-to-call widget and it is now live and available on the Shopify app store. We caught up with David to chat about Custard and see what’s coming up.
We built a prototype click-to-call app at the Twilio Conference in September. After we received great feedback and won the grand prize at the hackathon, we decided to build a more robust product to launch.
What technologies are you using to build and support Custard?
We are using Python, JQuery, and of course the Twilio API leveraging Twilio Client along with Pusher and MongoDB for infrastructure.
What are your future plans for Custard?
We want to maximize the value of customer conversations for online businesses. There are some really interesting developments we are making in the sales and support space so stay tuned.
How did you get started developing with Twilio?
We’ve been fans of Twilio for a while. Ever since Twilio Client launched, we’ve wanted to build something awesome leveraging the technology.
How was the experience of integrating Twilio with your chosen tools and technologies?
Awesome, Twilio makes integration pretty seamless.
