A user is a unique participant address, chat identity, phone number, or WhatsApp number. Each user is counted once a month. If the same user appears in more than one channel, they will only be counted once.
An active user is counted when a user logs in to a front‑end SDK, is assigned to or contributes to a conversation, or when edits are made to their user record. This includes new messages or message edits from our APIs, or sending and receiving SMS and WhatsApp messages.
The Conversations API supports messaging across channels like conversational chat, SMS, MMS, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger.
The Conversations API includes features like states and timers to better manage conversations, orchestration logic to intelligently route and group conversations across channels, and participant controls to add or remove individuals.
