Great ideas shouldn’t die on the vine. When a company lacks the technical expertise to ship their idea, they can drop it — or call the experts. TTAG Systems specializes in bringing their customers’ communications ideas to fruition.

“We try to find solutions for our customers,” says TTAG Systems, Chief Innovation Officer, Armen Matosyan. “Typically our customers have heard about the technology they want to use but don’t know how to use it.”  That’s where TTAG Systems comes in. When TTAG Systems weighs which tools to use to build their customers ideas, they choose Twilio.

Building Customers Their Ideal Communication Experience

TTAG Systems built mobile coupons with custom QR codes, launched city wide advertising campaigns tracked by SMS engagement, and built in-store SMS surveys using Twilio. Twilio is the hammer they use to build a proverbial house for their customers. And TTAG Systems is building some  pretty cool houses.

Take for example the grocery store that wanted to upgrade from paper coupons. The grocer wanted to understand what made it’s customers take advantage of deals, when, and why. Paper coupons told the grocer close to nothing.

TTAG Systems build the grocer a service that allows them to upload an image, drop in a QR code and variable coupon code. Then, they can use Twilio SMS + MMS to text that coupon to customers. Customers who opt in to the SMS campaign can text the grocer’s shortcode to receive coupons in-store. The grocer now has data on which customer used which coupon, when, and where. With this data, they can build a better customer experience for that individual customer and figure out what’s driving sales.

“The beauty of it is that the customer receives one image. That image contains the advertising part, and also contains the QR code and the variable code.”

Connecting To Users On a 1:1 Level

The granularity of MMS and SMS gives TTAG Systems’ customers a higher quality of information on individual customers. “Every unique customer receives a unique coupon code on their phone via MMS that no one else can access. We can be sure that customer received that coupon,” says Armen.

If Ttag had chosen a different medium to build a coupon campaign for their customers, they might not have the same quality of data. “You cannot do this via email. MMS and SMS help us identify the user because the message is unique.”

The message is as unique as the medium. What’s your email inbox looking like right now? I’d hazard a guess it’s not at zero, but I bet your SMS inbox is.

SMS and MMS give TTAG Systems’ customers the ability to reach their users in a space that’s familiar to them. Consumers have their phones on their person more often than not and can check a text in an instant. They’re not logging online on a computer to check the “promotions” folder of their inbox as frequently.

This advantage is critical to TTAG Systems’ success, as well as their customers’ success.

“You can reach their customers online when they’re in front of their computer. But what about when they’re offline and just using their phone? There’s a barrier between asking customers to go online on the spot to do an action and receive some sort of reward. Text message technology presented in a smarter way allows them to interact right away and get a reward, complete a survey, or get a coupon. For offline customers, text messaging gives more conversation rate than compared to any other,” says Armen.
