SIGNAL Day 1 Recap: One Million Developers, One Million Reasons To Celebrate
Time to read: 3 minutes
Day 1 of SIGNAL was a celebration of the one million developers building on Twilio. We celebrated together the only way we know how – by getting everybody together, shipping some code, and announcing a suite of new dev tools.
Here’s the rundown. Tune in for the live stream of day 2, tomorrow at 9:30 am PST / 12:30 pm EST /4:30pm GMT. Watch it here.
Twilio Add-Ons
Don’t reinvent the wheel if you don’t have to. Twilio Add-ons is a marketplace for third-party, pre-integrated Twilio enhancements. If you’re building an app and don’t have time to code a feature yourself, grab it from the Add-ons marketplace. Developers can add their Twilio solutions to the marketplace for others to buy.
IBM, VoiceBase, NextCaller, WhitePages Pro and other Twilio partners already have Add-ons available in the Twilio Marketplace that can help with analyzing customer sentiment, looking up Caller ID and more.
You can take Twilio Voice, Lookup and SMS Add-ons for a spin right here. Stay tuned for Twilio Add-ons in beta.

Twilio Wireless
It should be easier to get the internet into your things. Twilio Wireless makes it simple to get your IoT device connected using a Twilio SIM card powered by T-Mobile’s network. This feature gives you an API interface that lets you execute, control and monitor connectivity of your device.
You can use Twilio SIM cards for data now. Soon, you’ll be able to integrate Twilio Voice and SMS into your devices to build rad things. Sign up for the beta here You could text your apartment what the temperature is, hear what your device is hearing using Twilio Voice, and a whole lot more.
If you need some inspiration, you can read how Brent Schooley used Twilio Wireless to customize his IoT powered hackpack right here. Learn more about Twilio Wireless here.

Developer Experience
Let’s strap some rockets on your Twilio development experience. At SIGNAL, we announced changes to Documentation, Console, and Debugger. They all do different things, but the motivation behind their respective remodeling is the same: make your development more intuitive and faster.
Documentation
The new Documentation layout features in-site search, a responsive display so you can look at code while you’re writing code (I’ll skip the Xzibit meme for now), and filtering by product, language and stack.
Your time should be spent writing great code, not searching for the right code. Learn more about the new Documentation experience here
Console
TwiML Bin is a powerful tool that a ton of developers rely on. We integrated TwiML Bin into the Console so it’s always within arm’s reach. Now you can tap into the power of the TwiML Bin without leaving the console or worrying about setting up a public host.
Much like the new Documentation, the new Console’s design is responsive so you can ship code and see the output and any errors in the same window. If there are products you use more often than others, you can also pin them to the side of your Console for quick access. Read up on it here.
Debugger

Bugs are incredibly frustrating. But they’re even more frustrating when they’re hard to find. The new Debugger makes bugs stick out like the bat signal (no pun intended).
Now, you can search for errors by type, the problem webhook URI, phone number, TwiML App ID, and request / response content.
