Announcing General Availability of Verify WhatsApp

We are excited to announce that Twilio Verify WhatsApp is now in General Availability (GA)!
What does the General Availability of Verify WhatsApp mean for me?
In early 2022, we announced Twilio Verify Whatsapp in Public Beta. Now, the announcement of Verify WhatsApp as Generally Available means that the Verify WhatsApp channel is backed by an increased reliability and service level quality of 99.95% with our Service Level Agreement (SLA). Twilio’s SLA means that in the rare event you encounter a problem, you can raise a support ticket backed by the service agreement.
Secure Communication with WhatsApp and Verify API
Verify simplifies the user verification process because it’s future-proof. You can quickly implement user possession factors using a variety of channels - WhatsApp, SMS, Email, Voice, Push, Silent Device Approval, TOTP, and Silent Network Authentication, all through a single integrated API.
If you’re familiar with the Verify API and sending SMS One-time Passcodes, adding WhatsApp as a channel for your consumers is a simple one-word change in the API request. The additional layer of security offered by WhatsApp means you can send one-time passcodes over a secure connection keeping your end-users safe. Like the Verify SMS channel, pre-approved One-time Passcode template messages are sent through shared WhatsApp-enabled phone numbers maintained by Verify. The generated One-time Passcode is the same on either channel, enabling users to use the code they receive from either WhatsApp or SMS if both were requested.
