Twilio Verify Push - Now Generally Available
Time to read: 2 minutes
Twilio Verify has empowered businesses to fight signup abuse, account takeovers, and payments fraud with a fully-managed API solution for verifying users across multiple channels. Today, Verify Push enables customers to verify and authenticate their users during onboarding, logins, and transactions without the risks, hassles, or costs of One-time Passcodes (OTPs).
We are pleased to announce the General Availability of Twilio Verify Push, which means that it has met Twilio’s highest standards for reliability and scalability, backed by the Twilio SLA guarantee.
Announcing Verify Push
Verify Push works in conjunction with your existing authentication implementation to allow you to build secure engagements into your application flows. This fully managed API enables in-app user verification, actively or silently, via a Push. Your end-user responds to the challenge by confirming or denying they initiated the request to access your application.
At SIGNAL 2021, nextmarkets co-founder and CTO Dominic Heyden, shared how the financial trading platform added Verify Push authentication as an alternate channel to their verification flow. When a nextmarkets customer logs on to complete sensitive operations like withdrawing funds, they receive a push authentication to their linked device to confirm the transaction. With Verify Push, customers like nextmarkets provide the option for consumers to confirm or deny a transaction, a countermeasure to prevent unauthorized activity.
- Turnkey and Ready to Deploy
Built on Public Key Cryptography, Verify Push allows you to use a trusted standard without managing digital keys, securing digital identities, performing compliance audits, and ensuring encryption. We build, secure, and maintain all back-end services, including creation, protection, and onboarding, user/device lifecycle support, and rate limiting, so you don't have to. - Reduced Friction for Better UX
Verify Push makes secure logins simple for users. When accessing an app on their computer, they can authenticate themselves with one touch by simply approving or denying a push request that shows up on their phone—no codes to remember or manually enter.
When logging into an app on their phone, the verification happens behind the scenes to enable a completely silent, 2FA experience with less friction. - Increased Security
Push verifications are fully encrypted and use a secure data channel, so there are no codes to steal and no risk of man-in-the-middle attacks. - Visibility and Control
Verify Push provides detailed information, such as the request status, device name, and other valuable signals around each verification. Denied verification requests can also offer helpful insight that feeds into your risk models.
Verify Push allows you to embed push authentication logic directly into your mobile application, creating a Strong Customer Authentication compatible authenticator using something your customers likely already have installed.
Verify Push does not require end-users to provide Personally Identifiable Information (PII). - Predictable Costs
As a software-based solution, Verify Push provides a scalable and predictable cost model by eliminating the uncertainty of international telephony costs.
The accelerated shift from physical to digital has dramatically increased the scale and frequency of digital engagements. Businesses must find ways to end the trade-off between fighting fraud and protecting users while providing a seamless UX and managing costs. Twilio Verify empowers you to offer the most secure authentication method that easily fits into your existing application flows. Future-proof your application's security with Twilio Verify.
