Give your student club a boost with TwilioQuest
Time to read: 2 minutes
The TwilioQuest Student Club Grant is available to help student groups learn together with TwilioQuest. Through the grant, student groups holding TwilioQuest workshops can get up to $500 financial support, Twilio swag for their members, and support from local Twilions.
In service of the TwilioQuest mission to help everyone discover their power to change the world with code, the grant will be awarded on a needs-first basis, with priority given to organizations serving underrepresented groups in technology.
Supporting student group leaders
Student groups are an integral part of the college coding journey. Through these groups and events like hackathons, students get exposure to tools and frameworks that can help them land their first job or bring their dream projects to life.
In thousands of clubs around the world, student group leaders perform the heroic task of creating and presenting workshops for their fellow students. The TwilioQuest Student Club Grant aims to make that just a little bit easier. With the grant, you get:
- Financial support: up to $500 of sponsorship for your group or event. Enough to feed your attendees, contribute to venue fees, or to pay for your video conferencing license.
- Twilio swag: you’ll receive a box of Twilio goodies to entice and excite your members. There’s no better way to start that laptop sticker collection.
- Support and resources: creating and presenting content is tough, particularly on a regular club schedule. You’ll get everything you need to present a TwilioQuest workshop with minimal preparation.
How can my group get a grant?
All you need to do to apply for a Student Club Grant is fill out the quick form below. But before you get started, check that you meet the eligibility criteria below.
To be eligible for the Student Club Grant, your group should:
- Make it official: you should be an official or recognised group at an educational institution.
- Create a safe learning environment: you should have an enforced code of conduct for your group or event.
- Lower the barriers to learning: your event should be free to attend. Annual membership dues for your club or group are ok.
You can apply for the grant if you meet those criteria. If you receive a grant, you should:
- Teach your members: facilitate TwilioQuest workshops, one per hackathon, or three per semester.
- Spread the word: make sure your members know about the workshop through promoting it leading up to the event, and about TwilioQuest by including the logo on your promotional materials.
- Help us improve TwilioQuest: encourage your members to spend a couple of minutes filling out our survey after the workshop.
Whilst we welcome applications from all student groups, the grant will be awarded on a needs-first basis, with priority given to organizations serving underrepresented groups in technology.
